Michelle Briggs started this petition to Governor Gavin Newsom

My fiancé is in Corcoran State Prison and was supposed to be released March 17th which was the day before the shelter in place order was put into place. Instead of releasing him he was told he had to go to court for something that had happened 10 months prior while incarcerated which had been taken care of internally. He has a non-violent history and should be home. His new release date is November 15, 2020. Now this COVID-19 has hit and he has asthma and a compromised immune system due to anemia which puts him at a higher risk of complications if he contracts this virus. The prison is doing what they can to sanitize and keep inmates safe, but the reality is that if it gets into the prison it will be bad for all inmates! They share water fountains, toilets, phones and many other things which puts them at risk. Help me to bring him home to his family where he belongs. He deserves a chance to be home during this scary time and a chance to stay healthy. He should be home already which is so frustrating! Please help!
