Activity is vital for both physical and mental health. One thing that has remained constant during the guideline discussions regarding COVID19 is the need for ensuring physical health and wellness. One of the most valuable tools we have for our children to remain healthy is activity in the form of youth sports. This health and wellness can be found in both a physical and mental fashion. Unfortunately, for the last 3 months, our children have sat sedentary as their facilities and teams have been shuttered due to this virus. We are seeing mental health issues skyrocket, emotional outbursts become more the norm than pre-COVID19, and much of this is because children have no outlet, no schedule, and FAR, FAR too much screen time.
Restaurants, gyms, and even professional sports have all been given the go ahead to open while our children continue to sit at home. Youth sports teams are ready. Return to practice plans have been created, discussed and edited to ensure that our children are able to get the physical activity and interaction they so desperately need while maintaining appropriate precautions.
Competitive Swim, Little League, Club Soccer, Track & Field, Football, Volleyball, the list can go on and on with youth sports activities that need to return.
It's time to get our children moving again. REOPEN OUR YOUTH SPORTS!
