No more Chromebooks
The New Chromebooks are extremely terrible for reasons other than the obvious one (it only runs chrome). According to the product page on Amazon.com (https://www.amazon.com/HP-Chromebook-11A-G8-Education/dp/B08KJKRF2M this specific model is running on terrible and outdated hardware. First off, the processor is very weak. The AMD A4-9120C APU Dual Core Processor is specifically designed for Chromebooks, which in theory should work well with the Chromebooks except for the fact that the processor is constantly thermal throttling due to the lack of any sort of internal/external cooling. Also, the processor has only 2 cores which makes it extremely bad at multitasking. The graphics card is integrated into the processor so any intense visualizations will not be happening anytime soon with these Chromebooks. This model is equipped with only 4gb of ram which means it's always going to be slow. Next, this model only has 32gb of storage (half of which is taken up by the garbage operating system), but don't worry because you won't have to store anything on this device because there is nothing to store. The product page claims that the plastic screen is “anti-glare”, which simply isn't that case. The product page also claims that the keys are backlit, which once again, simply isn't true. Back to the thermal throttling, Because of the lack of any sort of cooling, the Apu must limit the number of calculations and power it uses to prevent it from literally exploding. This seriously affects performance however it does improve battery life. If HP were to add even a single Apu fan, the entire device would improve its performance dramatically. The school started with laptops that functioned 100x better than our current Chromebooks, and then they spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on pieces of garbage. The only real benefits are the lawsuits the school will receive when the Chromebooks catch on fire and burn someone’s house down.
