Minnis bay in Birchington has always had free parking bays along the Parade seafront and this is community asset that supports use of the beach and costal path to facilitate people out exercising whether this is walking the dog, going for a costal walk or jogging or cycling which aids the well being off the people of birchington. To have this free parking supports the tourist trade to the people visiting Birchington. If they suddenly have to pay the numbers of visitors will rapidly decrease effecting the local bussinesses such as cafe, bed and beakfast and pubs and restuarants in minnis bay abd the town. There is no issue at all with parking or people overstaying, there is more than ample parking to cater for al. This is just a blatant money grabbing exercise by TDC and KCC. This will have the opposite effect and push people to park in the surrounding roads to the detrement of the local residents. There is already a pay and display car cark behind the Minnis Pub that always has plenty of space. This is a blatant money grab by the council disguised as concern for local parking when there is no issue to resolve.
