Stand up for early childhood educators

Good Morning...I am writing regarding the issues we are having with the College of Early Childhood Educators. This is an organiztion that was established to protect the public from EcE's and to discipline ECE's. I understand all of this, but how do we deal with abuse from the College?
We are among the lowest paid professions (many below poverty line) and pay the highest fees for registration. OCT's and nurses make 2 to 3 times what we do and yet do not pay fees as high as ours. We pay $150/yr now and it is going up to $160/yr in September. They do not issue membership cards nor do they allow us to print any out.
On top of this...we are required to do CPL (continuous professional learning) as a requirement to keep our registration in addition to our fees. Many are not aware that ECE's work 9-10 hrs per day and add to that our families, and life in all takes it's toll. Most training has to be paid out of ECE';s paycheque as employers have a challenge providing for this because it comes out of parents fees.

Our provincial regulations for quality are among the highest in the country and all of that costs money for employers. The increase in minimum wage (agree it was needed) has helped, but again...parent fees are also some of the highest to pay for this.

I have been in the profession for 40 years and have advocated for it my entire career (ever since I was declared an educated babysitter-and have served as management as well)

we we would like to be treated as professionals.

We need to be able to prep and research our programs and planning on paid time so that we can spend time with our families.

Most eces have to work two jobs just to survive

we worked hard for our diplomas we should not have to have them taken away because a college cannot process applications in a timely manner.

Some of the members of the CECE have been appointed by the provincial government and we need your help do something about the outrageous requirements.

Thankyou for your consideration.
