Support professional women's hockey players

0 have signed. Let’s get to 5,000!

Currently, Professional Women’s Hockey players are without a league that supports, promotes and provides them with a living wage. For the past four years, the NHL has had over 4 billion U.S. dollars in revenue each year. During its last season of operation, the previous women’s league only paid the players 1,500 USD for a whole season. This represents nothing more than a wage of 53 USD per game.

These skilled athletes put time, energy and sacrifice much more just to play the sport they love. In fact, while NHL players only focus on playing hockey, most Professional Women Hockey players spend countless hours practicing and training for the sport while still having to work 40+ hours a week.

Fans supporting women’s hockey help promote the growth and income of the NHL. These are young girls playing the sport and buying equipment or merchandise from official NHL suppliers. These are also fans buying NHL sponsored products when attending games.

Right now, more than 200 of the best players are without a league nor a salary and this needs to change. Not paying them is oppression and inequity at their most obvious.

Until they are paid, these players will fight not only for what matters today but for the future generations of young girls aspiring to play hockey for a living just like the boys!

It’s time for Gary Bettman and the NHL to step up and provide the players with a professional league and a living wage.

Please join the movement in demanding the NHL to commit to providing Professional Women’s Hockey players with a sustainable league and a living wage representative of their fair value and what they bring to the sport of hockey worldwide.
