Gartcosh Road Safety
0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!
As a parent council, we aim to represent the views of the parents, and most importantly the children while at, and on route to the school.
As many of you will be aware, in the past few weeks there have been two significant crashes in an area where many parents and villagers walk their children to school or visit the local amenities.
While we welcome the introduction of the new 30mph flashing sign in the village, we feel more needs to be done to highlight the speed limit on this road and the crossing which takes so many pupils to school.
We are sure you will agree that crossing the road both at the school, and across the main (A752) road can be fraught with danger even with the traffic light controlled crossing.
With that, we would like to garner your support regarding the issue of Road Safety by signing this petition. We appreciate some of you will have signed a petition at the school but we are also keen to engage other villagers who have had problems with road safety in Gartcosh.
We will use this as evidence during further discussions with North Lanarkshire Council, Police Scotland, and other agencies to show the level of concern there is amongst parents, carers and villagers regarding the issue of Road Safety in and around our village.
It would help this cause greatly if you could forward this link or share the page on social media, so we can get as much support as possible to help this campaign for safer journeys to and from the school and village.
Thank you for your support.
