The Teacher Cadet program is designed to help students or young scholars to enhance their education as a future teacher or leader in their career field. The program was started in South Carolina in 1985 with 4 high schools, and now has served over 71,000 students. This class allows students to work in multiple settings and would give credits for graduation, furthermore providing valuable work and life experience. In conclusion, this course would benefit students in developing their maturity and skills to be successful after high school.

Adding this program to Garinger's class list would very beneficial to students and teachers. There are few classes that allow students to feel committed or personally involved, and Teacher Cadet would provide a individualized experience. Students that already help their peers during class time are not receiving credit for their actions, and this program would give them something to show for the extra effort.
