It’s important that the garden centres don’t lose money and can’t afford to reopen.

I usually buy all my bird food in the garden centres costing a lot a month but the birds eat what I but. Now buying online - what has been sent is not always what I thought it to be. Then they don’t always have the full range of stock I want.

The majority of our horticultural industry has not been has not been eligible for Government aid during the Cov 19 pandemic and we are likely to loose a very high percentage of businesses this year due to them becoming insolvent. Locally grown plants reduce the risk of new pests and diseases coming into the country that can have such devastating consequences. Gardens are essential to the health and well being of a vast number of people. Even those who do not have gardens enjoy growing plants on balconies and windowsills. These next couple of months are crucial to the growers and sellers of plants, it is their busiest time of year , and could make all the difference to their survival.
