Oct 14, 2012 — 6:16 pm, OCT. 13, 2012 - The Gap shirt designer, Mark McNairy, responded on his twitter page last night. He tweeted, "MANIFEST DESTINY. SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST." (He has since deleted this tweet, but a signer of this petition captured a screenshot.) This is inexcusable. At this point, this petition is also asking that this designer be fired from Gap immediately. ||UPDATE|| 12:15 pm, OCT. 15, 2012 - Mark McNairy stated the following on his Twitter account, @mmcnairy: "I AM SORRY FOR MY SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST COMMENT. IT HURT ME DEEPLY TO BE CALLED A RACIST AS THAT IS NOT ME. I REACTED WITHOUT THINKING." Screenshot link to come.
