Minecraft has been a staple in many gamer’s hearts since it’s launch, and I think it deserves its spot in history as one of the greatest games of all time. The game has recurved so many updates throughout its 10+ year life, and I think there’s an update that could benefit many builders in the long run.

Minecraft’s redstone technology gets the job done for a wide variety of contraptions such as automatic farming, daylight sensor lighting, and a very wide range of redstone piston doors. The problem with redstone however, is that it has its fair share of space that it takes up. Even when wiring ahead of time, lighting up big spaces with the option to switch the lights on and off can be a hassle to design and execute. I believe there could be a great update to the game that fixes this minor inconvenience and makes modern construction in Minecraft leagues better then the builds of yesteryear.

If the team behind Minecraft implemented a wireless lighting system, light switches in any build would be simply effortless to install. If the original lighting options such as redstone lamps had an alternate wireless option, advanced lighting would no longer be problematic. The wireless lamp can pair with a separate block which is (ironically) redstone powered, and will light up any wireless lamps that contain a key similar to the lamp communicator block. The communicator block could have a UI that allows you to set keys, which could be any block/item in the game, and a communication range, which can be extended distance and amount of lights with the amount of redstone dust you cram into it. When the communicator block has, say, a grass block in it, any wireless lamp that contains a grass block will light up when the communicator is active. Of course, separate key-like ideas could be implemented with better results, such as a new key item that can be set using a “key maker-type block” that could correlate with some other new redstone item in the update. The main idea is that lighting in Minecraft could become better in many ways with such a system, and with your support, I think this could be reality very soon!
