The Galloway Township Public School District is considering a "reconfiguration" of its four current K-6 elementary schools.  For example, one potential configuration could include two K-3 schools and two 4-6 schools.  This would dramatically change elementary education in Galloway and significantly affect thousands of current and future students.

We, the undersigned, parents, guardians, family members, staff, and taxpayers of Galloway, would prefer for our elementary schools to remain in the current K-6 configuration.  We believe other options, such as redistricting, should be explored to deal with the issues of uneven enrollment and space.  Reconfiguration is unlikely to solve these issues alone and will significantly affect the sense of community, culture, and tradition that our schools currently have and would take years to rebuild.  There are many other concerns including busing, siblings, and parent involvement.  The current configuration is why many families choose to live in Galloway in the first place and it has been successful for decades.

This topic was discussed at the May 6 Board of Education meeting and a proposal could be made at the next meeting on May 20 (7:00 pm at GTMS).  Please consider attending to share your voice in addition to signing and sharing this petition.  Thank you!
