Move Saint Francis School Varsity Girls Softball to Division I

Move Saint Francis School Varsity Girls Softball to Division I
Aloha,
Our names are Briana Tovio-Asato and Ululani Reyes, current assistant softball coaches and former softball players at Saint Francis School. We are writing this petition in representation of Saint Francis School Varsity Girls Softball players, parents, coaches, and alumni.
Saint Francis School Varsity Girls Softball aspires to compete at the Division I level. We strongly believe in Saint Francis School Varsity Girls Softball team and their potential to win the Division I ILH Championship title and Division I State Championship title this year. The current Senior class of Saint Francis School Varsity Girls Softball team have had high hopes of moving divisions since the end of their freshmen year (2016), but it seems as though they have been held in Division II against their own will to move to Division I.
Below are the Saint Francis School Varsity Girls Softball team’s recent accolades:
· Ranked 4th in the State of Hawai’i among both Division I and Division II teams prior to regular season (2019)
· Division II State Champions (2018)
· Defeated State Championship runner-up and Division I ILH Champions, Punahou School two times (out of two competitions) during regular season (2018)
· Placed 2nd in the Division II State Softball Tournament (2017)
· Placed 3rd in the Division II State Softball Tournament (2016)
· Multiple players have been recognized for All-State 1st Team, 2nd Team, and Honorable Mention awards
With these achievements, one may conclude that Saint Francis School Varsity Girls Softball team is ready to be challenged at the Division I level.
This is Saint Francis School’s final year in existence. The Varsity Girls Softball players, parents, coaches, and alumni wish for its very last Varsity Softball team to play at the top of their capabilities by competing with the top softball programs in the state of Hawai’i and be recognized for doing so.
We are extremely passionate about this endeavor as Saint Francis School and its softball program are very, very dear to our hearts. We simply intend to give our best effort to fight for our girls so they may experience the opportunity they have been humbly asking for year after year.
In conclusion, this is Saint Francis School Varsity Girls Softball program’s request to have the opportunity to play for both the Division I ILH and Division I State Championship titles.
Your time and consideration is greatly appreciated. Mahalo!
Respectfully,
Briana Tovio-Asato
Ululani Reyes
