Urge FUSD with 42 schools and 34,000 students to ensure that kids, teachers and staff provide proof of a negative covid test before entering campus on Jan 10, 2022.

Given most students and staff would likely have been travelling or mingling over the break and the rise of Omicron over the break has been enormous, this maybe a good way to curtail the surge.

If schools enforced test results from say 24/48 hrs before school opening, much like airlines, it could make a reasonable start to the school season

Requesting FUSD to adapt as follows

1) Require a conclusive negative test for students and staff.. before returning to campus

2) Prepare with alternate study/work material/Zoom classes  for atleast 2-3 weeks after school opening, to accommodate for surge in student/staff absences.

3) Continue to enforce the mask mandate.

Given FUSD is already doing item 3) above, and are adept at 2) , the request of 1) above seems like a reasonable and responsible ask, much like other vaccine requirements by our school districts. 

Given there is still one more week before school opening, can we request this enforcement be made now ? Maybe mobilize help from PTSA or other school volunteer bodies to mobilize the enforcement ?
