The minister of higher education and training made it clear that, students affected by N+rule in their final year's and they require few modules to complete their studies must appeal and granted a bursary for one additional academic term. NSFAS excluded students registered before 2018 for 4 years programmes then they studied for 3 years instead of 4, took gap years and started again in 2020-2021. N is thus the number of years a student have been in universities, +2 is the additional 2 years they grant a student if they failed to complete his qualification within record time. They suppose to be given 6 years since they firstly registered before 2018 for 4 year programmes( N+2) i.e 4+2=6. Students has been unfairly excluded in their final year's, appealed but got rejected. However in the circular notice number 1 of 2022, it was indicated that NSFAS will require additional information from institutions for students who will be appealing N+. Students required those letters from their HODs indicating that they are indeed in their final year of studies and have the propensity to finish within one additional academic term, they got rejected.
