Stop Adani’s giant coal mine and protect the Great Barrier Reef

Last year, ACF took the federal government to court to challenge their approval of Adani’s giant Carmichael coal mine in Queensland. The verdict is in.

We lost this time. But it's not over yet.

It’s madness that our government can legally approve the biggest coal mine in Australia's history when pollution is killing our reef.

Since they approved the mine, global warming has fuelled the worst coral bleaching on record. If we don’t cut pollution, the Great Barrier Reef could be gone in just a few decades.

This court case is critically important. It proves we need a new generation of environment laws.

At this critical moment, let’s send our new Energy and Environment Minister, Josh Frydenberg, a strong message – Australians want you to choose our beautiful reef, not more polluting coal.

Join us and sign the petition: ask the Federal Environment Minister, Josh Frydenberg, to reject Adani’s Carmichael coal mine and create strong new laws that account for global warming to properly protect our Great Barrier Reef.
