We are asking for support in changing our black institution for forever. We ask for your support in Coppin State taking its football program which is a part of the NCFA (club football) and making it apart of the MEAC (NCAA D1). With the success the football program has had since it started in 2012 with a pair of National Championships and several conference championships, we feel it’s time we upgrade the program to the MEAC. Some of our accolades since being established in 2012 include: 2 National Championships, and 6 Conference Championships. All our players have tremendous pride for our school, and it breaks both the schools and players hearts when they are forced to leave to pursue their football career. It is doing a disservice to the full potential that Coppin State university truly has to really impact the city and the lives of young men and women. Then players go and shine at other institutions and are products of Coppin State football and we are robbed that light. Some players even take it as far as still returning for grad school even after pursuing their football journey. Imagine the lives we could change for the kids of West Baltimore if they knew they could pursue a real football career right across the street from where they live. Our goal should be to retain every player that comes to Coppin for football by supporting them to the best of our ability and working them to be the best student athlete they can be.
