Accommodate FISD Students started this petition to Frisco ISD and

COVID-19 has changed many family's and student's plans for the oncoming school year. The transition into online school has also altered student's academic needs and desires. In order to accommodate for this, FISD should allow students to change their courses. FISD had put into place a May 1st deadline for schedule changes, which is totally unreasonable. May 1st was a totally different time, where virtual school was not even considered.

In addition to this, there are several kids and families that are at risk for getting infected with the virus, and FISD has made it so that some of these kids have to go to school several times in each 9 weeks for some of their classes (such as AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and more). Frisco is in Texas, a state that has head an insane spike in coronavirus cases lately, meaning that schools will become literal petri dishes. This creates an extremely dangerous environment for students. Frisco ISD has altered their course offerings and requirements, but the students are not allowed to change their schedules accordingly!

A school district is meant to serve the students. In this trying and unpredictable time, education is more important than ever before, but plans have radically changed due to COVID-19. COVID-19 has modified the nature of education, and the school district should be acknowledging and accepting of that. We should not be subject to the same plans we were in May.

I urge you to sign this petition in order to work toward fairness and accommodation for students in this grueling time.
