Green The Inner Richmond in San Francisco - Help Us Plant Two New Trees

On Monday, July 20, 2020, a violent car crash at 8:54 a.m. caused harm to the Inner Richmond community of San Francisco. Major damage to three cars and an uprooted street tree shocked our community, which is accustomed to relative safety and security. Thanks to the physicians at San Francisco General Hospital, the driver received treatment for internal bleeding. Unfortunately, the street tree was a loss.

One month later, our neighbors and community members are left with a void. A once beautiful tree that provided shade and brightened an otherwise dull expanse of concrete is gone. To our knowledge, there are no plans to replant.

Your signature on this petition will help our community to heal by **hopefully** allowing us to secure two new street trees from Friends of the Urban Forest ("FUF"). FUF is a nonprofit organization in San Francisco that brings neighbors together for community tree planting events.

Your support of our efforts to green this small corner of San Francisco will yield community benefits for generations to come. Time is of the essence in our campaign. Each day that we go without trees in the Inner Richmond is another day that greenhouse gas emissions on Anza street go unchecked and that neighbors must face the global pandemic without the comfort and beauty of trees.
