My mom, Lori, has been wanting a dog for a very long time. Unfortunately her husband (my dad), Dan, does not want her to get one. Some of his excuses are “I’m never home and I want to be the one to train it” or “We will never be able to travel”. My mom gets very sad that she doesn’t have a pup to call her own. She even started watching friends dogs to get her dog fix. But, the dogs always have to go home and she’s left feeling sad again. Here are some of my arguments:

 1. Dan works all of the time, leaving my mom sad and lonely throughout the day. Getting a puppy would give her a friend..not to mention protection!
2. Both of her kids are grown and have moved out of the house. Letting her have a puppy would give her a responsibility and give her someone to take care of again. 
3. You will be helping a little pup (or big pup) get out of a kennel and into a loving home. 
4. Your wife is really sad and wants a puppy. Happy wife..happy life.
