Edmonton After School Care Association (EASCA) is a non-profit before-and-after school care organization. EASCA was incorporated in 1973 by a group of parents who felt a need for quality care for their school-age children. EASCA currently has two centers: one at Afton School of the Arts (since 1986) and the other at Meadowlark Elementary School (since 1994). Both schools are located within the west Meadowlark community. EASCA is a non-profit, charitable organization that provides quality care for school-age children from kindergarten to grade six.

EASCA'S Philosophy: We have observed that a child learns best when they are treated and an individual. We know that each child comes to us with different backgrounds and unique needs. Therefore, the children should be able to build
upon their abilities at their own pace and level of readiness.
The child’s social, cognitive, emotional, and physical needs are met through our learn through play philosophy. Through observing the children during play and interactions, we are able to meet their needs and engage
them in activities aligned with their interests. It is of great importance to us that the program meets the continuous and changing needs of the children
through the promotion of self-reliance, responsibility, respect, self-esteem, and appropriate behaviours. Our program is based on the children’s ideas and suggestions. These are taken and elaborated upon to create
an engaging program. We promote life-long learning and use learning through play approach. We work hard to ensure your child’s unique ideas are incorporated into the program.

EASCA has also been known to be actively involved in the Meadowlark and West Meadowlark community. Hosting charity car washes, having garden plots in community gardens and visiting community senior centres.

EASCA is an important attribute of the West Meadowlark Community and we would like to keep it that way. Please help EASCA reach their goal in successfully continuing to offer quality child care in the new Aleda Patterson Elementary School, as our Afton location will be torn down.

Thanks kindly for your time, support and contribution!
