Shaw High Football Stadium

This petition had 535 supporters

Alumni and Friends of the Shaw High School,

The stadium known as the home of the Cardinals is in dire need of an upgrade.

Shaw Stadium was built in 1923 and has been home to not only our beloved Fighting Football Cardinals but to the NFL's Cleveland (now Los Angeles) Rams, as well as two college teams, Case Institute of Technology and Western Reserve University.  The Cleveland Browns used the stadium as a practice field during the 1960s and early 70s! (Check out the video!)

Great NFL like players Baltimore Colts Tight End, Tom Matte; San Diego Chargers Offensive Lineman, Eric Moten and Buffalo Bills Linebacker, Darryl Talley were all members of the Fighting Football Cardinals. So, as you can see there is a rich history associated with Shaw Stadium.

Recently, the Cleveland Browns offered to provide field turf to five high schools in the Greater Cleveland area. I was hoping that Shaw could benefit from a new turf especially in a stadium with an NFL history.  This morning, I read that Pittsburgh Steelers Running Back, Le'veon Bell donated $750,000 to his former high school. However, he is just one man.

I created this petition to ask the friends and alumni of Shaw High School sign this petition in order to solicit the Cleveland Browns organization in considering Shaw Stadium by providing a new football field for present and future players of Shaw High.

Once I have enough signatures, this petition will be presented to the Browns organization at their offices in Berea for their consideration.

So, I hope you will join me in this effort.
