Silvia Lozeva started this petition to HOTREC (Hospitality Europe 111, Boulevard Anspach - Box 4 / B-1000 Brussels, Belgium) and

GACKT, a famous Japanese rock-signer described an explicit and a blatant case of racial discrimination in a hotel, while visiting Paris, on 30th March. He described in his blog how he was asked to sit at the back of a restaurant, crowding together with all other Asian customers, while the front seats were empty and only Caucasian visitors were allowed to sit and dine. Even with empty chairs, no Asian customers were allowed to sit at the front and forced by the staff to move to the back seats.

We need to support this petition, because racism has a deep effect on those who experience it, but also on the rest of us in the global community. If we don't speak up when we see racism, we are not preventing it, and should make the world a better place for all of us.

This is important, because the UN adopted the Universal Declaration for Human Rights in 1984. This gave rise to many other declaration, particularly the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, signed on the 4th January 1969 in Geneva, which signifies the dignity and equality inherent in all human beings.

By asking the hotel management to publicly apologise we are showing that we will not tolerate explicit racism anywhere in the world, to anyone. They will have to question their practice and faced with a public backlash if choose not to.

Sign the petition to make a difference, if you can't tolerate racism in 21st century.

For a better world.
