Freeze year 7 places if a school has an Ofsted rating of 'inadequate'.

Choosing a secondary school place is one of the most daunting times of your life, you finally apply and you're content with your choices. Only to find out that none of your preferences have been considered and your child is offered a place in a failing school. A school that has been rated 'inadequate' in all areas and a school that has failed previously and been on the Ofsted radar for many years.
I would like the government to ensure that any school with an Ofsted rating of 'inadequate' are unable to offer any new year 7 places for a minimum period of 12months. I think it is unreasonable and immoral to expect good parents to commit to sending their children to a failing education provider and offer parents no alternative at all.
My son does not have a school place for September 2017 as I have declined the offer of a place at a failing school. I would like to know why places are being offered for new year 7 children to start in September in a school that has an Ofsted rating of 'inadequate'.
This sends a very clear message to children that being 'inadequate' is an acceptable standard to reach and as parents we are ok with this! I want all child to strive for excellence and have fun learning and be supported in a school that also strives for excellence!
Please sign and share this petition if you want to stop children being placed in failing schools and believe that all children in Britain should all be offered a place in an outstanding school, allowing them to reach their full potential.
