Sanitary pads or tampons used for controlling bleeding in menstruation, providing hygiene and are necessary. It is extremely capitalistic that we, in the modern world are charged for a natural process which we can't even control.

There is a tampon dispenser in the middle wing's girl's washrooms. It costs about 5 rupees per pad/tampon which is actually ridiculous, considering that I always have to carry money to school in case I get my period during school hours.

It is so cruel to benefit off of something like this. 

And trust me, it is not even about the school, pads/tampons should be free in general. 

A report by Dasra suggests that nearly 23 million girls drop out of school annually due to lack of proper menstrual hygiene management facilities.

An estimated 775,000 people died prematurely as a result of poor sanitation in 2017. This was 1.4% of global deaths. Deaths that were preventable if action was taken.
