Charlo Greene, the Alaskan reporter and cannabis activist that went viral after saying, "F*ck it, I quit" live on the news, is facing 54 years in prison for creating the Alaska Cannabis Club, the state's only safe access point for thousands of medical cannabis users.

No one should lose their life over a plant, especially one that has been legalized, but that is what Charlo's cannabis advocacy could cost her: spending the next 54 years behind bars until she turns 82.

This petition is to have the state of Alaska dismiss all criminal charges against Charlo.

Charlo's attorney informed her initially that she was being charged with eight counts of "misconduct involving a controlled substance." If convicted on all of these charges, Greene was told she could face up to 24 years in prison; because the club is registered in her name, Greene is the only person state prosecutors charged, despite the presence and law enforcement's acknowledgment of several unlicensed dispensaries operating openly across the state.

Charlo recently found out—from a reporter who was covering her case—that she was facing an additional six charges. These additional charges could potentially add another 30 years to her sentence. That's a total of 54 years for a plant that Charlo sacrificed everything for and successfully legalized in Alaska 2 years ago.

No one should go to prison over a plant. Especially not a legal one.
