After hundreds of years of oppression, the Black Panthers decided to fight back. Their goal was to protect their people from police brutality and raise their people out of government sectioned poverty. 
However, in an Apartheid nation like America, their goal made them public enemy #1, and they were hunted and killed or incarcerated for their efforts. 
Today, America is finally coming to terms with its treatment of black people, but the people who sounded the alarm have been forgotten and are still in jail. 
As we attempt to heal the great divide caused by systematic, institutional racism, we must not forget that the remaining Black Panthers are political prisoners of America's war on black people. 
This petition is to tell the original freedom fighters we have not forgotten them. They deserve to live out the remainder of their lives as free men.
