Free the Pee in Morris Knolls
"Students housed within an instructional space which is in excess of 300 sq feet shall not be required to travel through any other space except a corridor to reach a general student toilet room" source: state.nj.us.
Morris Knolls High School has closed all but 2 or 3 bathrooms during each class period, which forces students to travel across many different wings just to use the restroom. There is an estimated one toilet per 175 students in our school. The school has also implemented a one student per restroom policy which, in combination with the distance of the bathrooms causes students to miss large portions of their classes. Students and teachers alike have made it clear that they are sick and tired of these new rules. The reasoning behind this new policy is the fact that some students have been vandalizing the bathrooms. Despite this, the solution to this problem should not be something that inconveniences students and teachers, causes students to miss valuable class time, and causes more people to be using the same restrooms which increases one's risk of contracting COVID-19 in school. Morris knolls high school is breaking school codes by implementing this rule (as cited in the quote above) and change needs to be made.
