The Martire Turkey was wrongfully apprehended on March 1st, 2022 by City of Bridgeport Animal Control. This petition, supported by the students of Sacred Heart University as well as the surrounding community, strongly urges City of Bridgeport Animal Control to reverse their decision to arrest the wildly popular Marturkey, and release said Marturkey back to his natural habitat of the lush neighborhoods of Bridgeport Connecticut.

The Marturkey is a symbol of determination, perseverance, and bravery in a harsh environment,  and as such has become a popular icon amongst students who see the Turkey on a daily basis.

Any number of complaints received pale in comparison to the genuine joy this animal provides to the surrounding community, and it would be wrong to favor a louder minority of voices on this matter.

Again, we ask that you reconsider the arrest, and release the Turkey where you found him.
