You can turn on the TV on any given day and see the devastating and totally unjust persecutions of political prisoners, in Mother Russia, where LGTBQ+ groups are getting banned and activists imprisoned. Now, your asking, does this matter that much, or is this a problem that is not widespread? Just research this online and you'd understand. Just look at the Russian invasion of Ukraine, where Russian people themselves, a lot who vehemently opposed to the unjust invasion, are getting imprisoned by the masses. Even before the invasion, a government critic, Alexei Navalny, supposed to be perfectly okay with the already fragile democracy, was poisoned by FSB operatives. Hey, but you might ask, "What will my $1, $5, or even $15 do to support the political prisoners of Russia? Well, let me explain. The charity I'm donating to giving-compass, works with the Moscow based charity, OVD- INFO which was founded in December of 2011, where mass protests happened in the area. It was created to bring freedoms and justice to the people of Russia, operating 24 hours on a national hotline, coordinates, legal assistance with victims of political repressions, providing legal eduacation to activists, and finally research. That means your little bit of money can contribute to supporting wrongly accused political prisoners, and making sure justice is served.
