The Issue
On April 21, 2011, prolific street artist Jason Williams also known as REVOK was arrested as he prepared to board a plane to Ireland at Los Angeles International Airport. For "failure to pay restitution to the victims of previous vandalism crimes." his bail was set at $320,000 and he has been sentenced in a court to 180 days in prison. REVOK is a key figure in Los Angeles' urban and graffiti culture and the evolution of this culture is rapidly gaining support in Los Angeles and in cities all over the world.
As a member and supporter of the arts community in Los Angeles, I express my concern for the harsh laws imposed and for the freedom of Jason Williams.
