Why this petition matters

Started by Rosa Patea

In New Zealand Public transport fares are a big part of some people's lives, and for someone that uses public transport daily, the price of it can come in quite a big bill. Families having to pay for public transport 5 days a week for 39 weeks the whole year and for some families their children go to school on the other side of the city, although some would say that those families should just send their children to their local school, but some may live in an area where the local school just isn’t enough. As well as saving money, getting rid of the public transport fares will help make a healthier and cleaner earth. More people will use public transport and reduce CO2 emissions by 45%, decreasing pollutants in the atmosphere and improving air quality.

Together we can all make this change. If this petition is successful in making a change, families won't have to worry about if their kid can continue going to school, low income workers won't have to worry about making it to work to provide for their families and overall, everyone will save money and encourage more public transport use to help save the planet. If you are passionate about saving money and helping those in need, sign this petition and share it !!
