Free parking for disabled people in Council-run car parks in Farnborough and Aldershot
0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!
There are very good reasons for making this change now:
- Some disabled people face financial difficulty because of their condition, and requiring them to pay for parking can stop them taking part in leisure and social activities.
- Every other district in Hampshire, apart from one, has free parking for Blue Badge holders. There is therefore no excuse for Rushmoor charging.
- The recent survey of problems with private-parking firms in Rushmoor found that having to buy parking tickets can often be very onerous for disabled people and so increases the risk that they will be penalised.
- Disabled residents find that taking a wheelchair across busy car parks to get to a ticket machine is dangerous.
