On May 4th, 2022  I.S 126 Albert Shanker Community School decided to bring YONDR. Yondr is a pouch that we put our phones in and lock so students don't use it their electronic devices.  Yes, students pay attention but also some kids do not like this decision about the YONDR pouch.

For example,  according to an article by The Sting, ¨the pouches that claim to be good for student’s health by locking away phones using a magnetic seal, but we have yet to be made aware of the physical danger they cause."  (Talk about the danger)

Last year in I.S.126 instead of YONDR, students had to put their phones in a basket sealed by a ziplock bag. At the end of the day,  students get their phones back.

Students, parents, and guardians, please consider our petition to band YONDR because the pin used to unlock the punch brings a huge hazard to the students; especially when opening the pouch.
