Hello. I am writing this missive in order to receive justice & long awaited relief for my husband. 

He has been incarcerated since 1989 for murder. He's now 50 years of age. He is a 1st termer without any prior criminal history. He was the youngest of the 3 co-defendants & received the most harsh sentence, LWOP, a LIVING DEATH SENTENCE at age 18. 

In short, my husband filed a petition under 1170.95 and his petition was deferred pending consideration and disposition of a related issue in people v Lewis case. 

The Lewis Case was vacated, remanded and fully reversed beginning with the California Supreme Court Opinion, the same court where my husband's case was granted review of petition and then deferred pending the Lewis case. However, no instructions were issued giving a reason why the petition was dismissed.  I don’t understand why they would hold his case up pending the outcome of the Lewis case with no true intent to even consider his case. 

My Questions are, how can his petition be granted and deferred based on Lewis case then be dismissed when there was found a related issue within his case, and Lewis being reversed?
Shouldn't my husband get relief at least on that same related issue?

WHERE IS THE JUSTICE FOR YOUTH OFFENDERS?? SHOULD THEY NOT BE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE REHABILITATED BY PROGRAMS THAT ARE SET IN PLACE IN PRISON INSTITUTIONS TO REFORM INMATES? DO THEY NOT DESERVE A SECOND CHANCE WHEN THEIR YOUNG LIVES HAVE ONLY JUST BEGUN?

(I REALLY FEEL THAT THE COURT DID NOT FOLLOW THE SENTENCING GUIDELINES OF THE CALIFORNIA LEGISLATORS, AS THE AMENDING OF PC 189 UNDER SB 1437)
