A Hinds County Circuit Court jury convicted Cassandra younger of fatally shooting her co-worker in the breakroom at National Linen Service in May 2001.

The jury deliberated more than six hours before finding Cassandra Younger. Guilty of the shooting of Tosha Colbert.

Younger was sentenced to life without parole.

Younger, who had been out on bond, was taken into custody after the verdict.

Younger shot Colbert in self-defense. She feared Colbert , who’d  reach for her gun she’d threaten younger and her unborn child with. Younger today has five daughters. 

 Younger has been in MDOC for 18 years,  due to this horrible injustice incident endured. An uncontrollable situation in which Younger had to protect her unborn fetus.
