In 2010, Cesar "40" Prado was wrongfully arrested at the age of 15.  After awaiting trial for almost 2 years, he  was wrongfully convicted and sentenced to 49 years in prison at the age of 17. He was convicted by a jury for Attempted First Degree Murder, Attempted Second Degree Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm in the First Degree. Cesar maintains his plea of innocence.   There is no DNA evidence linked to the case or linking Cesar to the scene of the crime, the weapon was never found, and one victim testified in court stating Cesar did not shoot him. The only witness who testified that Cesar was the shooter was his co-defendant, who initially denied that he or Cesar had anything to do with the shooting. After being offered the choice of pleading guilty to a Rendering Criminal Assistance charge and receiving a sentence of only 20 months if he would testify for the prosecution, he changed his story and implicated Cesar.  Cesar is innocent, and at the age of 22 has 42 more years left in prison. It is socially unacceptable, unethical, immoral and financially irresponsible to keep Cesar incarcerated.  Please sign the petition and request that Governor Jay Inslee grant clemency to Cesar and set him FREE!
