Paid parking has once again been reinstated this March, 2022 after a two year hold related to COVID-19. Paid parking has always been discussed as an issue at hospitals as all staff must pay for parking while working. Many of whom have gotten tickets for extending shifts due to staffing shortages and unexpected events where they don’t have time to purchase more parking. To add, many family members, and friends visiting loved ones in tough times are forced to pay for parking as well. My belief is that to force people to pay money to see their loved ones in times of grief and sadness is atrocious. Or even in time-sensitive cases where you need to get to the emergency department as quick as possible, but then are expected to think about parking is absurd. Paid parking in hospitals should be put to an end, for everyone.
