Globally it is being recognized that the ever changing climates and ways of life are having a drastic impact on human life and sustainability. We as a Caribbean Country bare the consequences of these issues. When climates rise islands feel it before anywhere else. Cayman needs to begin a movement of sustainable behavior by putting a ban on single use plastic or begin limiting the importation of it. Change needs to Happen Now. Not when it seems necessary because now is the moment. Cayman also needs to stop cutting down trees to fit the needs of foreigners who only want to move here to make a quick profit because it may not have an immediate impact but it does have one.

Solutions include:

minimizing use of single use plastic

implementing a recycling policy where large companies have a responsibility to increase their recycling percentage by at least 20%

allow a claim of 5cents per recycled plastic bottle or item labeled redeemable for compensation as it will have a change

for every piece of land sold 10% goes to an organization working towards bettering our local community in a green productive way
