Connor Grant started this petition to Franklin Township Community School Corporation

COVID-19 has taken a drastic toll across the globe.  In the grand scheme of things, seniors graduating from high school and college is the least of our worries as we combat this pandemic, but this virus has limited that opportunity for many students across the country.  While other schools in the surrounding area like Roncalli, Warren, and Lutheran have decided to postpone their commencement ceremonies, ours has let us down.  Instead of postponing the event, FTCSC has made the unpopular decision to host a virtual ceremony on Friday, May 22nd.  Our seniors have worked tirelessly to not only graduate, but to also represent their school district well.  Holding a virtual ceremony feels like everything but a slap in the face to the students who have spent years of their life here.  On top of that, taking the route of holding a virtual ceremony instead of finding a new location & date feels as if a lack of effort was put it into a decision that ultimately affects our community as a whole, in addition to making our seniors feel somewhat disrespected.  Join me and others in our attempt to hold FTCSC accountable for their actions, as well as pushing for the postponement of our commencement ceremony, rather than a virtual broadcast that seemingly strips all of the meaning behind the event.
