The community of Frankfort, KY needs an indoor pool. Parents of swimmers in Frankfort know all too well the frustrations caused by the lack of a quality indoor pool.  Our local swim teams have to go to other communities just to practice. Shelbyville,  Georgetown and Versailles all have indoor pools. These communities also have club swim teams that have meets at these locations which are typically more than one day.  This can bring money into the community as families of the out of town swimmers need to stay and eat in the community.

Not only would an indoor pool benefit our local swim teams, but an indoor pool can be a great source of fitness for the community all year round.  An indoor pool can bring the opportunity for swim lessons year round as well.

There is a committee that is evaluating the best way to redesign Lakeview Park.  A survey was sent out that asked for community input.  One of the top requests was an indoor pool.  The committee decided not to pursue an indoor pool because it would not bring any money into the community.   I believe that not all things for a community should be for profit, however, I do think a pool could bring money into the community in many ways.  Please consider signing this petition to let those making the decisions in Frankfort know that it is time for Frankfort to have an indoor pool.
