STOP the Proposed 120 Foot Monopole Tower Antenna On Indian Head Heights

This petition made change with 200 supporters!

The Framingham Department of Public Works is seeking a "Special Permit" in order to erect a 120 foot Monopole Tower as part of the Indian Head Heights water tank replacement project. It is up to us to come together as a community and have our voices heard that our neighborhood is no place for an 12 story antenna.

Top 4 reasons why to sign the petition:

Property Values: Studies have shown that large antenna towers in the vicinity of a residential property can decrease home values by as much as 20%. Buyers shy away from purchasing a home due to aesthetics and potential health concerns.

Aesthetics: Although the Framingham Department of Public Works dismissed worries about the 120 foot monopole being an eyesore to the surrounding neighborhood, it is hard to imagine not seeing a 12 story high antenna sticking out.

Health Concerns: The Telecommunication Act of 1996 prohibits towns from denying antenna tower permits due to health concerns. Although health risks cannot be used as an argument, numerous studies have shown significant increase of cancer cases in residents living in close vicinity of the tower.

Future Commercial Use: The proposed monopole antenna is "intended" to be used for town communication purposes only. However, there is concern that in the future, the town can change their mind and offer space on the tower for commercial use in order to increase town revenue.

Let's come together as a community to show the Zoning Board of Appeals that a 120 foot monopole antenna in our back yard is a bad idea.
