Petition for Laura Ingraham to Publicly Apologize to Lebron James on Fox News

In a world where the public is constantly bombarded by "Fake News" and "alternative facts" it is increasingly important that everyone's voices be heard. Lebron James was recently interviewed by ESPN where he discussed personal growth and the struggles of being a black public figure in America. During this interview James also denounced Trump and several of his policies. Ingraham used a segment on Fox News to call out James. She stated that "It's always unwise to seek political advice from someone who gets paid $100 million a year to bounce a ball". She followed this by saying athletes should "Keep the political comments to yourselves. ... Shut up and dribble".

This type of ignorance Ingraham is portraying is both disgraceful and dangerous. Urging the public to keep to themselves and not voice their beliefs is what leads to oppression and directly contradicts the First Amendment of The United States. Lebron James is a very influential figure and goes out of his way to help the public. The Lebron James Family Foundation spends at least $1,000,000 per year on educational initiatives and I Promise campaign also started by James donates $41 million in college scholarships to Akron youths each year. James has made a strong effort to better himself and several young people across America. He has every right to express his opinions and fight against those who wish to silence him.

Laura Ingraham needs to publicly apologize to James and any other celebrities she has tried to silence over the years. She is setting a dangerous example and one that continues to create a barrier between an already divided nation.
