March 3, 2017 Westlake High School lost 2 seniors Desmond Cooke, and Colin Bipat just months away from graduation. Caleb Marshall was the third passenger in the car, and he is being hospitalized in critical condition. The accident occurred on Smallwood Dr. after the driver was trying to avoid hitting another car, and veered into a pole splitting the car in half. The two were found deceased at the scene. Both loved ones and friends were gathered together to mourn the loss of the two very promising young men on March 4, 2017. That same evening the vigil was held, officer Rob Glover (#272) went to Facebook and made an inappropriate comment by saying "Fuck em, shouldn't have been driving that fast" The bottom line of the situation is even those who drive the normal speed limit get into accidents lose their lives just as easy. It's never okay for a law enforcement official to show disregard (especially on social media) towards a sensitive subject. The parent(s) of Desmond and Colin didn't even get to see their children turn 18, or walk across the graduation stage with their fellow class. Right at the cusp their lives were taken from them, the last thing they need is for a disrespectful, inconsiderate, and incompetent officer such as himself "serving and protecting" if he can't even show respect. Give Desmond Cooke and Colin Bipat, and Caleb Marshall the justice they deserve. No parent, no student should ever suffer a pain like this. Their souls will be remembered dearly, but let's not let another officer roam free of consequence knowing the pain and disruption that is being caused in our community, thank you for your time.
