Inmate Civil Rights For Moore County Detention Center!
Why this petition matters
My father has recently been incarcerated, and me and my family are concerned for his health and well being. He suffers from mental illnesses such as schizaphrenia, bipolor disorder, schizoaffective for suffering from both illnesses, he also suffers from type 2 diabetes which we are concerned his medical rights as an inmate is being abused due to him not being treated properly or with the correct medicine. For example he was not given the correct insuline for his diabetic disorder when his own docter prescribed insulin was provided and on hand, and along with this they have put him on 23 hour lock down. Their reasoning being his health, which we have reason to believe is not being treated approporiately. Even this is alot to take in, but along with all of this they revoked our visitation to see him on feburary 6th 2020 reason being they moved him, and along with that they also changed his inmate number which also show a representation that goes against his religious beliefs and we are still currently trying to apply for visitation to see him. When we where lucky enough to recieve two phone calls pertaining to around 2 minutes apiece he did not sound in the right mind and he wasnt in lock down at that time. He was not in a lock down block. Me and my family are concerned for his health mentally and physically and that his civil rights as an inmate is being abused or not being recognized what so ever. Also his youngest brother died january 18th and the District Attorney denied continuence even though the family was in turmoil. All of this suspected injustice is occuring at the Moore County Detention Center in North Carolina. If anyone who has gone throught similar events and understand our concern, or you are concerned due to what we have said share this to as many people as possible, to the media, News Stations, and please try to help us anyway you can and thank you.
