Award season is upon us, which means that so is another season of millionaire entertainers that are detached from real world problems using the red carpet, stage, and cameras as an opportunity to pat each other on the back and spew their political ideologies toward the rest of us.

Ricky Gervais was a breath of fresh air, saying on that stage what millions of us wanted to, reminding entertainers of their hypocrisy, and serving out joke, after joke of painful truth towards those devoid of the understanding of the problems that impact everyday people. Ricky Gervais is a host for the people, a man not afraid to say what he thinks, even if it goes against celebrity norms.

I would like to start this petition to have Ricky Gervais host every major award ceremony moving forward. Let's show FOX, NBC, ABC, and CBS that this is what their viewers want to see. We don't want a host participating in a celebrity back patting event. We want a host that breaks away from that norm and reminds them that we don't give a S___t about their political ideology. We use entertainment as a means to escape those problems around us, not to have their beliefs shoved down our throats in 8 minute segments packed between 2 minute commercial breaks. We want more Ricky Gervais and his IDGAF attitude!
