Help put an end to annual, fatal, and devastating car wrecks in Gilford. It’s time for this nightmare to end.

As a lifetime member of our small village it breaks my heart to see the past repeated once again. And i’m sure those who drive these roads daily can understand the feeling of driving through this intersection with anxiety of not knowing whether to slow down or speed up to avoid a wreck.

Some of you will have realized that it’s partner intersection a block north, (Highway 89 / Shore Acres Drive & 20th Sideroad) had received two new stop signs, making it a four way stop a few years back. As for me, along with family and other community members couldn’t help but wonder, why not both intersections? as they are both equally dangerous and have a fatal history. 

For the newer members of our small (but growing) village, the resolution to this issue is well overdue.
