Ronald Thornton Middle School Dress Code Change
Ronald Thornton Middle School Dress Code Change

RTMS has always been strict on its dress code. We’ve always known what to do, and we always get the same rules every year. Every single presentation however, is always directed towards the girls. I never hear a single word about the boys dress code. Unfortunately, the girls have much less freedom in our school than the boys do. Of course, we have the basic stuff. No booty shorts, no crop tops that go up to your breasts, and no tube tops.
But then we have no ripped jeans, even if we’re wearing shorts under them, no yoga pants, unless we’re covering the both front and back, no shorts that go an inch above your knee, absolutely zero crop tops, even if it’s just showing the tiniest sliver of skin, and no tank tops. The boys however, have no limitation to these options.
Every day, I see boys in tank tops, ripped jeans, and sometimes even being able to lift their shirts with no interception from the teachers.
I want the dress code to be fair for everyone. If the girls get so many limitations, then the boys should get some too. Or at least let the girls have a bit more freedom. Why don’t the boys have their own dress code? If boys can look at girls, then girls can look at boys too. So help me make this change, and help me change the dress code for the better.
