OUR FORT LEE YOUTH ATHLETES PROGRAM FUTURE IS IN YOUR HAND

Our Story:
Fort Lee has a long history in nourishing youth sports development, from a child's early ages (peewee) all the way up until high school. This tradition not only creates many athletes who have become successful enough to compete in regional and state championship games, but also acquire scholarships for higher eduction through sports such as football, soccer, softball, baseball, basketball and tennis.

Our sports programs have grown significantly since we started our soccer club in 1986, and we have witnessed other sports grow as well. In order to encourage and support the success of our young athletes, we would like the township to allocate more space and provide better equipment and facilities for the athletes to continue improving, all while having spectators enjoy the process.

Our Challenges:
There are currently too many sports leagues sharing too few fields for practice, games and other related events. With the conflict in schedules and availability, we often end up having shared practices with very limited space, shortening our practices, or giving up our home games. In some cases, we turn down opportunities to families who wish to join because we have reached our capacity.

Our Solution:
The township has offered a plan to create more fields in the Northside of Fort Lee by the high school.  The new parks will utilize the unused land and worn down parks by the entrance of Palisade Parkway to create a GREENER, friendly place for our sports programs and other community members to use. They will offer more space for families to enjoy during both sporting and other various events, so that we all can come together as a community. The parks will also feature more parking spaces for spectators, freeing up street parking and traffic.  Additionally, hosting non-sports, recreational events at the new locations will also reduce congestion by the downtown Fort Lee and Community Center areas. Everyone is welcome at new parks in the North side of Fort Lee.
