Ruby Bonilla started this petition to Michael Carvajal and

Mitesh Patel is a father, a son and a brother. He has been convicted and serving 15 years in federal prison, over the amount recommended by the prosecution and lawyer.
While he was part of the community, he contributed in many ways from financial support to family and friends to giving his advice or encouraging those from underprivileged places. Never once has he felt superior to anyone and has always been a call away to anyone that needed his help. During his incarceration now he continues to be that person and teach classes along as help in the medical sector of the prison. During this pandemic Mitesh was put on a list to be released being that he has prior and current heart complications. Understandably if a person makes a mistake they must deal with the consequences but in this manner Mitesh is literally at risk of losing his life being that he is a vulnerable human in close proximity to those who have tested positive to COVID-19. I hope you can take a moment to sign this petition to show the warden who has the power to authorize his release that along with helping him stay safe he is not a danger to society but in fact an asset. Thank you for taking the time to read this and please be safe.
